I love pitfall and nowhere is better than on the Atari 2600. The geometric shapes are just fantastic and really gave me some inspiration.

I’m currently creating a custom flyer for these ones too in the stylee of an old Atari 2600 box I’ll post when it’s finished.

DPK (Dunedin Parkour), who are a fledgling parkour group that meet in Dunedin required a logo and Edsel (the guy, not the car!) who runs DPK asked if I help. So without further ado, here it is…

I’ve been a huge fan of the Simon Furman and Geoff Senior created Death’s Head for over 20 years now. A criminally under used Marvel UK property which has been bastardized by his successors such as Death’s Head II and Death’s Head 3.0. The original had a unique feel to him with plenty of great british black humour and more than a few peculiar traits, least of which been his speech, yes?

I decided to create a pair of custom kicks featuring a chibi version of him I drew many, many moons ago. Following the colour cues of the character and with a liberal dose of blood these kicks will be what the discerning bounty…er freelance peacekeeping agent will be wearing this fall

These custom kicks use my “New from old” image to give a crazy 80’s kind of feel. Now you can walk around whilst making a statement about urban regeneration on your feet!

I really enjoyed doing the retro Transformers poster so decided to do a Transformers Revenge of the Fallen poster. It’s quite dark but looks good. See for your self.

One of my comrades recently made a post on his blog (which is also design orientated) about retro style images based around movies/books. Similar to what I’ve posted here. I’ve finally decided to have a bash at making my own (why waste a trip on a perfectly fine bandwagon?). Well, as many people who know me know, I love Transformers so thought I’d give Michael Bay’s movie the treatment. It’s actually based around Marvel Comic’s first ever Transformers comic. Alas I have no artist name to give the original credit to but you can see it here. You should also check out Spacesick and Dr. Monster’s Flickr account for some of their superior works in this catagory. Very nice stuff indeed.

Anyone that knows me knows I love Giant robots that transform. Yeah, transformers. Michael Bay released the teaser for the new film tonight via the superbowl and interwebs.

One of my favourite games of all time is Goldeneye on the N64. It’s a classic of game design, the box, not so much. It’s a slap dash job and was only passable even at the time of release. Olly Moss of flickr has decided to correct this wrong and has started recreating classic video game cobers in the style of old classic penguin books and golden eye is a doozy!!! I’ve thrown it down below along with the original cover for reference. Check out his flickr account where you can see his interpretation of The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time and Half-Life. Brilliant. I may just have a bash at something like this myself, but on a different subject.
